Because here at Velvet Underground, we love to discover hidden talents; this week, we would like to introduce you to Quyen who creates beautiful floral arrangements full of style and colour.
Knowledge of flowers, whether medicinal or for pure decoration is an art handed down from generation to generation here in hanoi. And we were delighted to discover Quyen’s talent whilst visiting a house recently.
When ever Quyen has some free time between her day job as a housekeeper and her own busy household she likes to go to the Pagoda at Tay Ho on the 1st and the 15th of each month where she prays along with many others that good luck and happiness will fall upon her and her family.
Her favourite flowers are the white ones, their lack of colour well compensated by their heady perfume.
