Because each employee has a special place in the workshop.
We decided to present, each week, one personality of the staff. We begin with Nga, who is here from the beginning !

Where did you begin to work with Kate?
In 2000. It was in her house, she showed me products she liked, pillows she wanted to fabric and I thought about how many meters of fabrics we needed, which material, how to stitch, etc. We worked just Kate and me, it was the beginning.
How many years did you come in this office in Phan Huy Ich?
About 3 years.
And now, what is your job?
I’m at the head of the workshop, i do the link between Kate and the 11 employees.I check all, downstairs, upstairs, they work in three floors. I supervise the cut of the fabrics, the differents steps until the final product. Also, I’m in charge of the stock in the Boutique, I check the items sold and we make some new ones for customers.
How many kilometers do you do each morning to come to the office of Velvet Underground?
33 kilometers.I live in HATAY.So, each morning, even it’s raining, I come by motobike.
Have you got children?
Yes, two. One son and one daughter. They are sixteen and twelve years old.
What about your husband?
He just came back from Malaisia, he was working in a construction site for five years.
What do you do during the week end?
I tidy up the house, I take care of my children, I supervise their lessons. Also, I work in my garden and I cook very good dishes!
What is your religion?
I’m Buddhist. We pray to Buddah the first and the fifteenth days of the Chinese Lunar Calendar .
And what will you do for the Tet ( Vietnamese New Year, the 7thfebruary 2008, we will enter in the Year of the Rat )?
I will cook for all my family ( grand parents, parents, children).We will be about 20 persons.We will share the dishes.We will do presents for the ancestor worship.
What is your favorite dish?
I like beef and Bun Cha (this dish consists of meat grilled over hot coals, served with a dipping sauce and vermicelli with a side order of herbs).
What is your favorite place in Hanoi?
I like to walk near the Tay Ho Lake.There are different places of interest such as Nghi Tam and Tay Ho flower villages, the peach gardens of Nhat Tan and the famous Tay Ho Temple.
Did you already travel ?
After my studies, I worked in Moscow in a clothes factory during 4 years.
Do you speak Russian?
Yes. I studied Russian language for 3 years in school.
That’s very impressive. You also speak sign language (there are four deaf-mutes employees in the workshop). Nha is a kind of mum for all the girls here! Thanks a lot, CAM ON Nga !
